Wow, December has flown by and I cannot believe that Christmas is just a few days away . Conor had his first drum recital and Mackensey and Conor both had their school Christmas musical. Church and small group Christmas and cookie exchanges kept us busy. We actually did not get our tree up December 1st like we do every year. We went to a new tree farm this year and found our biggest tree yet. At this tree farm you have to cut your own tree down but they also had a few that were already cut. Of course Shane wanted to check them out first. Conor was not happy because he wanted to freeze and walk through the endless rows and probably miles of trees. Shane and Mackensey stayed with the second tree that we picked up while I allowed Conor his need for the full tree searching experience.
This Christmas will be very different since we are "alone" in Canada, but it will be one that we make new traditions as a family. Our plan is to go to Butchart Gardens and enjoy the spectacular light display, iceskate on the outside pond and let the kids enjoy the carousel. We are also going to go tubing at Mt. Washington, and Christmas Day afternoon we are going to go feed the homeless a Christmas dinner.

Hows it feel to have a boy that grows more and more every post!! GEZZ he looks 16. We miss you guys!! Esp this time of year, brings back memories of when you left! :( Hope you have a great holiday and new year!! We love you!
Oh my goodness - the kids are getting SO big!! I'm glad you guys are beginning new Canada traditions, but it just won't be the same TN tradition without spending time with the Woodlief's. I was thinking about you guys tonight. Maybe when you do come we can have a 'Christmas' party:)
You didn't get the invitation to our wedding?!! You're supposed to be here on Christmas! Who will officiate?! :) . . . We Tennesseans are scheming to lure you back every December. I guess we dropped the ball this year. Expect an elaborate coaxing next year! :) We still miss you. . . If you ever wonder if you're forgotten in this place, you aren't. Your memory lingers still and always will!!
Allen officially finished seminary, so we need to make a trip so Shane can officiate his ordination! Wouldn't be appropriate for anyone else to do that. . . :)
And wow, the kids! They really do look more and more like teenagers everyday! Wish we were there to participate in your new holiday traditions. . . What a magical island Christmas this will be!!
Love you friends!!
-Jes, Allen, and Jonah (who is dying to meet you by the way)
