The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

"The sun will come out tomorrow" became the theme of the week for us during Nanny and G-daddy's visit. Despite the not so great weather - there were sites to be seen. We did go kayaking which is always fun. Nanny chose to take pictures and not brave the ocean. We also took them to Shane's favorite spot which is the Chemanis River. It is a beautiful site but one that really needs to be seen on a very hot day. The water comes from the mountains and the water is extremely cold. Jerry really tried to get in but it was even too cold for M and C - and that is definitely saying a lot. Shane and I were really disappointed in the weather and we never really got to just go somewhere and spend the day soaking in the rays, but as Jerry said everything that we wanted to do the weather (rain) held. We still had a great week just being with family and sharing such wonderful memories. As we said a tearful goodbye and sent them back to a very hot TN - the sun came out! The week following their visit became one of the hottest weeks of the year - GO FIGURE!

So sorry the weather didn't cooperate, but I know you had so much fun w/ the fam. I would've traded these past HOT, HUMID days for what ya'll had anyday! It's beautiful here today though...humidity is low and the sun is shining...it almost feels like fall :-)
My favorite pic is the one of Mary...your caption says "So not Gulf Shores"...that's hilarious! We miss you bunches and can't wait until it's OUR turn to come visit!

We have been enjoying over and over again the photos and your posts! we have many memories to live and relive. What a great trip! I wish we could pack right back up and visit again! It was so great to see you all so happy and adjusting to CA so well. Time with family is the best.....rain, sleet, snow and shine! We love you all so much.
